Integrated Support Specialist

Department: HS Family Services
Location: Madison, WI

POSITION SPECIFIC DETAILS:
Hours: 40 hours/week
Status: Full Year
Locations: 1 position covering East Madison, 2nd position will cover Stoughton and Great Beginings Sun Prairie

Pay $27.12 /Hour

Summary:

The Integrated Support Specialist will utilize a blended approach informed by education services, mental health, and family services principles to serve as the primary support services staff for one pilot site. This position will utilize a range of approaches and techniques including reflective practices, coaching, and use of Swivl to assist EHS and HS classrooms to grow in their capacities to provide trauma informed and evidence based social emotional approaches, while ensuring complete implementation of developmentally appropriate classroom curriculum and child development as outlined in the Head Start Performance Standards.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards, Agency Curriculum, Early Childhood teaching competencies and curricula, reflective and infant mental health, and family support practices required.
  • Knowledge and experience implementing an Anti-Bias Education and Culturally Responsive Teaching Practices.
  • Knowledge of and experience with early childhood development (0-5).
  • CLASS and CHILD reliability certification is preferred. Ability to obtain CLASS and CHILD reliability certification within six months is required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with underserved children and families.
  • Aligns with and embodies agency core values in all areas of practice.
  • Knowledge of trauma, effects of trauma on adults and children, typical manifestations of trauma in children.
  • Knowledge of and capacity to implement Infant Mental Health philosophies, practices, principles.
  • Knowledge of and experience of both giving and receiving reflective supervision and/or practices.
  • Awareness of and ability to implement evidence based, trauma informed strategies to support children’s social emotional development.
  • Strong team orientation and ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
  • High degree of motivation and self-discipline to carry out responsibilities independently.
