SUMMARY:
The Early Head Start Program Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the agency complies with regulations per applicable performance standards. This position will assist with the tracking of program compliance information, running scheduled reports and regular communication with the Early Head Start team. This position will also work in collaboration with the Early Head Start Enrollment Specialist to ensure compliance across all aspects of the Early Head Start program. Additionally, the Early Head Start Program Compliance Specialist is responsible for supporting the Madison and Stoughton Early Head Start Home Based programs. This position supports the planning and execution of socializations and events which includes preparation of materials, transportation, and nutrition. This position also includes organizing and submitting items for purchase orders. This role includes delivering and picking up items from the various sites. The position also includes helping maintain curricular resources for home visits; general office support at EHS locations; completing periodic special projects; developing newsletters and other written materials and assisting the families (during socialization primarily), Family Advocates and of EHS Home Based Managers.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Coursework and / or experience in 0-3 education, human development and /or health services preferred
Bilingual (Spanish) skills, particularly spoken, desired, not required
Experience developing and maintaining records and a record system required
Knowledge and experience with the Head Start program and performance standards preferred
Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
Ability to understand office systems and procedures and utilize them in support of overall program compliance, with strong emphasis on record keeping and required tracking
Strong computer literacy and 2 to 3 years of work experience in Microsoft Office programs, Outlook, Google – Gmail, Sheets, Drive, Docs, Windows Media, Paint, and the internet
Accurate editing and key boarding skills (50 wpm)
Experience with and knowledge of database systems
Experience with low-income, multicultural families, and knowledge of needs of low-income families is desirable
Must be detail-oriented and maintain a high level of accuracy
Must have the ability to determine workload priority and work independently
Ability to prioritize, organize, problem solve and effectively handle multiple tasks
Effective communication skills, written, verbal, and listening; ability to communicate professionally and effectively with parents, staff and management on a daily basis
Must be available for occasional evening work to support program needs
Valid Driver’s license and adequate liability insurance
Other duties as assigned
