Accreditation Consultant for Family Child Care, Early Childhood Education Programs—Statewide

Summary

The Satellite Consultant IV will conduct virtual and in-home visits to provide mentoring, support and resources. Conduct visits once a quarter (or more often if needed) to monitor provider compliance with Satellite Accreditation Standards and provide support. Accredit/reaccredit providers once a year. Offer technical assistance, support, program recommendations, and training recommendations as needed to help providers improve the quality of care. Develop and present group professional development opportunities and facilitate support groups for family child care providers. Take on leadership roles for Satellite projects and shared-responsibility leadership within the Satellite team. Represent Satellite on committees and with professional organizations. Participate on the Shine Youngstar Coaching team. Frequent daytime travel throughout Wisconsin

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent
  • Extensive knowledge of child care program operations and needs
  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience in regulated child care programs. 1 year of experience in family child care programs required.
  • Extensive knowledge of early childhood education, including a minimum of 36 credits in ECE and/or special education
  • Fully proficient in English reading, writing, speaking and comprehension skills (high school level or above)
  • Proficient in basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, ratios, and understanding charts)
  • Proficient with technology, including software (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Zoom) and devices (smart phones and laptops)
  • Possess a valid driver’s license and adequate motor vehicle liability insurance as required by agency policy and state liability regulations.
  • Ability to work independently, in a team, and in leadership roles
  • Use critical thinking and good judgment in decision-making
