POSITION SPECIFIC DETAILS:
Hours: 40 hours/week
Status: Full Year
Location: South Madison - 3201 Latham Drive, Madison

SUMMARY:
The Multi-Site Director is responsible for directing one of Reach Dane larger sites that has multiple classrooms for ages 0 to 4K populations. The Multi-Site Director will provide a safe and nurturing environment for children that encourage their social, emotional, physical and cognitive development for Dane County larger sites. The Multi-Site Director will follow Head Start performance standards, Reach Dane work plans, policies and procedures, city of Madison and NAEYC Accreditation criteria (if applicable). The Multi-Site Director will provide supervision and performance feedback for reporting staff.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development Required
  • Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education, or Child Development Preferred; other related degrees will be considered
  • Registry Level 14
  • DPI certification in ECE or ECEEN or related DPI cert. or the ability to become DPI certified is desirable
  • Extensive experience in the management of Early Childhood programming
  • The Multi-Site Director will plan and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum for enrolled children living in low-income, at-risk environments
  • Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards, Wisconsin Day Care Licensing requirements, Creative Curriculum, Early Childhood Accreditation, teaching competencies and curricula, parent-child relations, and family support environments
  • Extensive experience in successful supervision, staff training and development, and in leadership and advocacy
  • Knowledge of and experience with infant/toddler and family child care programming
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Experience with and sensitivity to low-income and families of diverse cultures
  • Knowledge of and experience in special education is desirable
  • Experience managing subsidized childcare
  • At least 1 year experience in an early care education setting; experience teaching preschool children means completion of supervised student teaching or experience as a preschool teacher in a licensed program or employment as a public school preschool teacher
  • At least 2 years of successful supervisory experience
  • Successfully complete a TB test upon hiring and every 2 years thereafter
  • Must have a valid Wisconsin’s Driver’s License, motor vehicle and adequate liability insurance as
  • Must be willing to fulfill their responsibilities in accordance with the agency’s mission
  • Preferred bilingual, particularly Hmong and / or Spanish
  • Must secure Registry certificate within 90 days of employment
  • Other duties as assigned
