POSITION SPECIFIC DETAILS:
Hours: 40 hours a week during the school year/20 hours a week during the summer
Status: Full Year

Pay: $16.71 an hour

SUMMARY:

The Nutrition Services Provider II will promote high nutritional standards at Reach Dane. This position supports multiple sites in creating menu-specified scratch cooking recipes for children between the ages of 0-5, including breakfast, snacks, and lunch. Responsible for the areas of food preparation, food service, clean-up and site sanitation. This position will follow food service and preparation guidelines based on the agency menu cycle as well as state and federal regulations.

This position will also assist in the classrooms if there are no food related tasks and provide school bus support as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must have the ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions at a level necessary to accomplish the job
  • Follow recipes, worksheets, and verbal instructions to prepare food per Head Start compliance
  • Knowledge of quantity food preparation, equipment, and sanitation methods is desirable
  • Experience working with young children and low-income families
  • Exhibit sensitivity to various cultures
  • Obtain 4 hours of continuing education annually
  • Experience with low-income and populations of diverse culture preferred
  • Float throughout the agency to different sites as assigned.
  • Have a valid Wisconsin Driver's License, and adequate liability insurance as required by agency policy and state liability regulations.
